Description

Okay, this is just an excerpt of a story I have in my head about a demon who befriends a human and they have all sorts of adventures as they learn about the power of love and friendship. I saw this base and it was just perfect so I had to use it.

P.S. Tsumi does stay, and ends up having a very bubbly personality, with the exception of when she gets angry and her eyes start glowing.

Misa in this story looks a lot like an high school version of Chihiro from Spirited away. Preceding this scene, Misa finds a pale, naked girl outside of a church during a rainstorm. The girl has black hair down to her hips, and blood-red eyes. She is crying and shivering when Misa finds her, and every time her skin makes contact with the walls of the church, she lets out a whimper or a short scream, and more tears pour down her face. Misa gives the girl her pink jacket and takes her back to her apartment and dries her off. The red-eyed girl eventually calms from her hysterics.

Misa set a cup of tea down in front of the girl, and sit across from her in front of the coffee table.

“Are you okay?” She asked. The raven-haired girl looked at her with wide eyes, before nodding slightly. Her silence made Misa uncomfortable, but she thought it would be rude to ask her to speak. For all she knew, this strange girl could have gone through something traumatizing and couldn’t speak.

“Umm, I’m Misa. What’s your name?”

The girl stared for what could have been minutes, the same frightened expression on her pale face, before speaking very faintly.

    “Tsumi.”

“Tsumi-san, do you know...would it be okay if I asked what you were doing out it the rain?” Misa asked. She tried to ignore the fact that Tsumi meant sin.

Tsumi once again waited several moments before answering in the voice of a small child.. “I was...banished. From the realm of the demons. I awoke in a place that burned my flesh and screeched my name as a curse. I was barely able to drag myself away.”

“...The….church?” Misa questioned, wide eyed. This girl was a demon?

“Is that what that place was called?” She stood up frantically. Misa’s pink jacket barely covering her. “Then I must destroy it! No one should have to be banished to a place of such torture!”

“NO!” Misa said, standing up and grabbing Tsumi by her arms.”You can’t destroy a church! It’s a refuge! Besides, people live there! The pastor and the nuns!”

“The paster? Is he the one in charge of that torturous building? Then I must destroy him as well!” The demon yelled, tears streaming down her face. She had to make sure no one felt that burning place again.

“You can’t kill people! It’s wrong!”

Tsumi stopped struggling for a moment. Her wide eyes became confused. “wrong…?”

“Yeah, ya know!” Misa said, relieved that Tsumi had stopped for a moment. “Like, bad things? Evil things? Cruelty? The opposite of right?”

Tsumi furrowed her brow, before she looked at the brunette in awe. “...This is the human plane.” She whispered.

“Umm, yeah” Misa said. Suddenly Tsumi’s face lit up in a bright, slightly fanged smile.

“The human plane!” She squealed. She had never even dreamed that she would one day get to discover a place do different from the Realm of the Demons. No wonder that building had been so painful for her! “This is so amazing!” She grabbed Misa’s hands in her own. “You’ll stay with me right Misa-san? So I can learn about right and wrong?”

Misa stared, bewildered. A few seconds ago This girl had been talking about killing people without a second thought about good or evil. And suddenly she was acting like an excited child, asking to discover the world as if it were a candy shop. She thought for a bit. Well, she did have to make sure the Demon didn’t hurt anyone. And she seemed to have good intentions. Misa stared into Tsumi’s eyes. She didn’t really have a choice did she? “Alright, Tsumi. I’ll stay with you, I promise.”

Tsumi threw her arms around the human. “Thank you, Misa-chan.” she whispered.

Years later, Misa found out that night was when Tsumi’s favorite color became  pink. The color of the jacket that the kindest human gave to her.
